Muriel Oliver Brooks, age 88, of Mathews, Va., passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2012.

She was a devoted member of Westville Christian Church, Mathews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Statesman Brooks; a great-grandson, Christopher Hudgins; a brother, Linwood Oliver, and a sister, Estelle Jarvis.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Brooks; a son, Harlan Brooks (Linda); four grandchildren, Patrick Brooks, Debra Brennan (Dennis), Stacie Albright, and Megan Shuber; five great-grandchildren, and four nieces.

The family received friends on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial in Providence Cemetery.
