Hundreds of years of Gloucester history will come together through art, artifacts and storytelling when the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester opens “Six Scenes, One Place: The Story of Gloucester,” on Saturday, Sept. 5, as part of Gloucester Day. The day will begin at 11 a.m. with the dedication of the 100’ wide by 12’ high “Six Scenes, One Place” mural at 6550 Main Street. This will serve as the opening ceremony for Gloucester Day, bringing the community together at the mural that inspired the exhibition. The day will also include an artist’s talk at 5 p.m. at the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester, 6894 Main Street, providing visitors with information about the research, planning and artistic process behind the mural. Created by nationally recognized artist Michael Rosato and commissioned by The Cook Foundation, the monumental mural brings six chapters of Gloucester history together in one sweeping composition, said a press release.
