MRA Turkey Trot

The Mobjack Rowing Association’s fall training program decided to do a two-for-one as they gathered at Williams Wharf last Wednesday to do their seasonal road cleanup on Williams Wharf Road. Disappointed with the cancellation of the 14th annual MRA Turkey Trot, the group decided to honor the founding 12 MRA runners by meeting early and running the planned new four-mile course from Williams Wharf to Town Point Landing and back. MRA coaches Tim Ulsaker (who has run all 14 events), Christina Tomcany and Jon Lothian (who was also one of the original 12 runners) participated on bicycles, with Lothian’s fiancée Melanie Lemon (also a rower) joining in. MRA members then proceeded to collect four full bags of trash from Williams Wharf Landing to Wayland Baptist Church (approximately 3.5 miles) in a little over 90 minutes.
