Three graduating Mob- jack Rowing Association seniors, two from Mathews—Bryce Clarke and Sydney Kollar—and one from Gloucester—Zach Hudson—earned higher education scholarships this year. Their achievements came through hard work, high grade point averages and broad participation in numerous student activities, an MRA release stated. While being actively involved in academic clubs, ROTC, school newspapers, booster clubs and honor societies, they also managed to meet the demands of competitive rowing for Mathews High School and Mobjack Rowing Association’s racing programs, the release said. Kollar and Clarke rowed over 3.5 years for Mathews and Hudson rowed three years for Gloucester High School and his last year for Mobjack Rowing Association. Mobjack is a rowing club that welcomes all public, private and homeschool students in their crew programs.
