MRA rowers wind up fall with good results

The 10 Mobjack Rowing Association youth rowers who have been training this fall have produced improving results across their last two dual practices with visiting teams.

MRA hosted Williamsburg Boat Club youth (six boys and five girls) at Williams Wharf on Nov. 1. Using a 4,200-meter U-turn head race course, the practice pieces were organized in two sessions with men’s and women’s doubles going first.

Mobjack’s Ben Stroud and Cole Wheeler posted fastest in the men’s doubles with Matt Morgan and Jaxon McDonald taking third of the five doubles. Mandy Moran and Scarlet Johnson finished on top in the women’s doubles, with Savannah Hartlove and Macy Johnson coming in third and Lily Baucom and Sandra Baer fifth of the five women’s doubles. The second session resulted in Moran, S. Johnson, Hartlove and M. Johnson being the fastest in women’s quad with Wheeler, McDonald, Morgan and Stroud likewise, as the top finishers in the men’s quads.
