MRA rowers capture gold at Canadian Henley

Mobjack rowers Logan Howlett, Maddy Hogge, Mackenzie Marbain, Jamie Robins and coxswain Kaitlyn Thompson struck gold at the 132nd annual Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, which was held Aug. 3-10 at St. Catharines, Ontario.

The Mobjack Rowing Association competitors took the top prize in the Senior (no age limit) Women’s 52 KG Coxed Four, leading their race from start to finish.

The Henley regatta saw 137 clubs bring more than 2,400 athletes who made 2,250 entries, rowing in 517 heats, semis and finals.

It was quite a successful day for the MRA rowers. Not only did Mobjack win the senior women’s coxed four, but the team also captured bronze medals in the Women’s U17 Coxed Four (April Young, Lilly Thompson, Bailey Hamilton, Maddy Lee and cox Brandon Smith) and the Senior Men’s 64 KG Coxed Four (Lance South, Aaron Parr, Jordan Dickey, Chase Holland and cox Smith).
