MPPDC program offers help to small businesses preparing for disaster

The Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission will host a virtual training program next week to help small business owners prepare for disaster, minimizing risks that can lead to financial ruin.

“Resilience in a Box” will be held at 4 p.m. next Thursday, May 6, on the MPPDC’s Facebook page (facebook.com/midpenpdc). Those planning on taking part are encouraged to indicate they will attend on the Facebook event page.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation designed the program in partnership with The UPS Foundation. The tools provided lead any type of business through the steps of disaster preparedness—a topic almost any business can relate to after more than a year of weathering the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Resilience in a Box” offers a collection of tips, best practices and checklists that businesses should follow to be proactive in planning should disaster strike.
