MPNN Walk to End Alzheimer’s to be held Oct. 1

The 2022 Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Botetourt Elementary School in Gloucester.Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with a Promise Garden ceremony at 9:30 and the walk on Main Street starting at 10.

All funds raised through Walk to End Alzheimer’s further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax deductible.

In the week leading up to the event (Sept. 25-Oct. 1), area businesses are encouraged to “Go Purple” to create awareness for the cause and the walk.

“You can go purple in any way that suits your business and creativity. Decorate your windows, change your light bulbs, decorate your mannequins, make a purple menu item, or encourage your employees to wear purple throughout the week. Whatever you do, you will help us to raise awareness for Alz-heimer’s disease and help our participants feel special as they stroll down Main Street ...
