MP Fine Arts Association lecture series begins Oct. 20

The Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association will begin its 2022-2023 season on with a program on Thursday, Oct. 20. Mary Prevo, an art lecturer at Hampden-Sydney College, will speak at Arts on Main in Gloucester.

Her program is titled “The Cloth Unfolded: Linen, Laundry and Laundresses in the nineteenth-century Still Life.” She will discuss the admiration artists such as Cezanne, Gauguin and Monet had for French 17th and 18th century domestic interiors.

The lecture is free, open to the public and starts at 7:15.

Dinner, for members and guests only, begins at 6 p.m.

Annual dues for membership are $20 for an individual, and interested persons may join at the lecture.
