Virginia Department of Transportation bridge maintenance crews have scheduled multiple traffic stops at the George P. Coleman Memorial Bridge between 10 a.m. and noon Wednesday.
There will be three brief traffic stops in both the northbound and southbound directions of the bridge for up to 10 minutes each during this timeframe. Maritime traffic will not impacted.
The traffic stops are necessary to allow crews to perform routine maintenance that includes greasing bridge mechanisms.
These scheduled maintenance activities are weather dependent, and VDOT will announce any changes to the proposed schedule as they occur.  VDOT attempts to schedule maintenance during travel periods when traffic volumes are lower, to reduce impact to motorists.
