Morgan named ‘Duke of the Year’

Gloucester High School senior Christopher Morgan was named the "Duke of the Year" during a special GHS assembly for the senior class on Monday. The Duke of the Year is an annual award and its winner symbolizes the very best that Gloucester High School has to offer, according to principal Tony Beverage.

The winner is chosen by the school staff which Beverage said considers characteristics such as honesty, compassion, leadership, courtesy, citizenship, integrity, scholarship, sportsmanship, diligence, humility and grace in making its selection.

"These words can be used to describe each of you, and if you feel that they don’t accurately represent you then it’s not too late to make a positive and lasting impression your senior year," Beverage told the seniors before announcing the award winner.
