The Captain Sally Tompkins Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy commissioned an ornament this year depicting the Confederate monument on the court green in Mathews. A release said each ornament is $20 and can be purchased from UDC members and in outlets in Gloucester and Mathews, with proceeds benefiting chapter scholarships and monument funds.
