MONTAGUE WILLIAMS HASKELL

Montague Williams Haskell “Monty” of Gloucester, passed away at his home Sept. 20, 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Haskell; his two sons, Matthew Haskell and Warren Haskell; his sister, Cindy Kispert and her husband, Jay Kispert; their children, Katie and Andrew, and his father, Budd.

A graduate of Gloucester High School in 1967, Monty attended the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce receiving a B.S. of Accounting in 1971.

Since 1976, he has been the owner and president of Mike’s Tire and Automotive of Ordinary, Va. With his wife Beth, he has owned and operated Kelsick Specialty Market in Gloucester Court House since 1992. He served his community as President of the Gloucester County Library Endowment Fund, as the founder of the Mike’s Tire Gloucester Parks and Recreation Youth Soccer Tournaments and through multiple positions of leadership within Ware Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Virginia Chapter of the Society of Cincinnati.

Visitation with the family was scheduled for Monday, Sept. 23, at Ware Episcopal Parish House from 5:30-7:30 p.m. A memorial service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ware Episcopal Church, 7825 John Clayton Memorial Hwy., Gloucester, Va. 23061.
