Modular classrooms free of mold and mildew

The cluster of modular buildings that now make up Page Middle School on the Gloucester High School campus is mold and mildew free, according to school officials, but the idea that the environment there is unhealthy for students still persists in the community.

Gloucester School Board chairman Anita Parker said she received an e-mail regarding another issue from someone who said she understood there was an ongoing issue with mold at Page. Parker said the e-mail stated that the eighth graders housed at Page "need to be out of the trailers."

Parker said she also received a phone call from a parent who expressed concern about her child attending Page next fall. "It’s still out there floating around that it’s an ongoing issue, and I’ve been assured it’s been taken care of. I want to stay on top of anything that is a health issue, and I think we’re in a good place here," Parker said.
