This Friday, at 6 p.m. at the Buck’s Store Museum in Bena, model boatbuilder Butch Watkins, above, will display his talents in the Guinea Heritage Association’s Fourth Friday program. People are invited to see examples of his work and learn about his craft of building scale models of the official state boat of Virginia and the workhorse of Guinea watermen and women—the deadrise. There will be time for questions and sharing, as well as light refreshments, after the program.
