Mock Trial

Mathews High School’s Business Law students competed for the first time in the annual Virginia High School League Mock Trial Program. This two-day statewide competition is held annually in March in Williamsburg. It is an academic exercise that allows students to practice concepts they have learned about courtroom procedures and constitutional law. This intense program requires a great deal of collaboration, teamwork, as well as a unique set of reasoning and problem-solving skills. Students engaged in a series of competitive rounds that lasted up to two hours each against eight other high schools from across the state.
