MOC names new event director for Wharf to Wharf Swim

Carolyn Quinn of Irvington has been named the new event director for the Mathews Outdoor Club’s annual Wharf to Wharf Swim competition. She brings decades of swimming experience and community involvement to the role. Quinn began competitive swimming at age six and competed nationally in both junior and senior national meets in sprint and distance events, specializing in backstroke and individual medley competition. She earned a scholarship to attend California State University, Long Beach, where she competed for the school’s swim program. More recently, Quinn competed with the Northern Neck Master Swim Team at several United States Masters Swimming National Championships and enjoys open-water swimming in the Rappahannock River. In addition to her athletic background, Quinn has remained deeply involved in community service and youth athletics.
