Mobjack rowers excel at Philadelphia Youth Regatta

 

The Mobjack Rowing Association, which has competed at the Philadelphia Youth Regatta since 1998, found success once again by the banks of the Schuylkill River, winning six gold medals and one silver, as well as five fourth- to sixth-place finishes on Saturday.

Mobjack advanced four boats to the semifinals and a dozen boats to the finals in the fast-paced regatta. In the "Bennie" points trophy standings, MRA took second out of 38 teams behind Fairmount Boat Club of Boathouse Row, Philadelphia.

The Mobjack junior 18 quad, consisting of Ashley Payne, Briana Priode, Jamie Robins and Hannah Cagel, started the day’s racing finishing fourth in their heat, while the junior 16 quad of Kara Smith, Tia Ilog, Mackenzie Marbain, and Robins placed second in heats. While advancing to finals, they had to scratch the race due to time constraints.
