Mobjack rowers compete in Head of Lafayette races; win five golds, three silvers

Youth rowers from the Mobjack Rowing Association’s fall rowing program took part in Sunday’s Head of the Lafayette in Norfolk, coming home with five golds and three silvers.

Mobjack men entered the men’s collegiate and junior double, collegiate and junior coxed four, junior single and mixed four quad, netting second- and third-place finishes in the doubles, first and second in the fours and two firsts in the single and mixed quad, respectively.

On the ladies side, Katie Ale and Kendall Worland raced the junior double for a silver, the mixed quad with Kyle Mielnik and Chris Smith for a gold, and Elizabeth Keane took gold in the junior single.
"We have worked a lot on proper technique and physical training this fall and the Head of the Lafayette was a good race to put the training to the test," coach Tim Ulsaker said.
