MINNIE PALMER HUBBARD

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joy of your Lord.” Minnie Palmer Hubbard heard these words of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as she entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at the age of 90. Minnie was born in Gwynn on Jan. 30, 1930 to Aubrey and Virginia Smith. She was a faithful member of the Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene, where she was actively involved in many capacities as long as her health would allow.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dickie Smith; husband, Thomas Hubbard; her sons, Keith and Greg Hubbard, and her granddaughter, Linda Hubbard. She is survived by her sons, Michael Hubbard and his wife Dianne of Barhamsville, Steve “Bubba” Hubbard and his wife Teresa of Cobbs Creek; her daughter, Judy Leverett and her husband Ron of Mathews; her daughters-in-law, Paula Hubbard of Auburndale, Florida, and Ruth Hubbard of North; her grandchildren, Billy Hubbard (Kathryn), Chris Hubbard (Frannie), Brian Hubbard, Karen Gibson (Alex), Hope Lowe (Jonathan), Travis Glenn (Kasey), Stephanie Rowe, (Jason), Kristen Walden (Danny), Logan Leverett (Jenna); her 13 great-grandchildren, Kara Rilee, Taylor Hubbard, Thomas and Brandon Hubbard, Cameron and Victoria Gibson, Courtney, Chelsea and Addison Lowe, Kayliana and Stetson Glenn and Aubrey Walden, Steven Rowe, along with one great-great-grandson, Jackson Rilee. She is also survived by her sister, Audrey Pierce of Mathews; her sister-in-law, Shirley Blake of Topping, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Convalescent Center-Mathews for her care over the past six years and especially over the last nine months during the pandemic. Visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at noon at the Gwynn’s Island Church of the Nazarene, 1009 Cricket Hill Road, Hudgins, Va. 23076. Interment followed at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery. Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, assisted the family.
