MILDRED MCKINNEY LAMBDIN

Mildred Louise McKinney Lambdin, 94, of Danville and formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in Danville.

She was the wife of the late Rev. Alvin Kenneth Lambdin Jr.

Born in Lynchburg, August 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John Linden McKinney and the late Willie Hale Mowles McKinney. She was a pastor’s wife, mother of six and a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by six sons, Alvin Kenneth Lambdin III and his wife Cookie of Middletown, Va., John Hale Lambdin and his wife Sarah of Amherst, Mass., William “Lanny” Lambdin and his wife Betty of Amherst, Va., Arthur Byron Lambdin and his wife Donna of Smithfield, N.C., Paul Linden Lambdin and his wife Barbara of Holly Springs, N.C., and Mark Timothy Lambdin and his wife Gayle of Raleigh, N.C.; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at White’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
