Mildred India Halat, age 87, passed away Nov. 28, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born Feb. 25, 1924 in Mobjack, Va., to John and Harriet Minor Colvin. She married John Halat while he was in the service and they were married for 66 years prior to his death.

Mildred enjoyed being a homemaker to her two children. A true Southern lady, she was always "done-up" and prepared. Her daughter moved her to San Antonio from Virginia due to her declining health. She was preceded in death by her husband, John.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan Gilbert and husband Lenn; son, Ron Halat; grandson, Ron Bowers and wife Patricia; great-grandchildren, Alexa Bowers and Marisa Bowers.

A private service was held in Maryland.
