Mildred Howlett Bunting, 102, passed away on Dec.13, 2018.

She was born in Gloucester County, Virginia, on Sept. 30, 1916 to Arlie Howlett and Agnes Gunn Howlett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doswell Bunting; and two sons, David L. Bunting Sr. and Ralph Davis Bunting, and her siblings, Buster Howlett, Raymond Howlett, Earl Howlett, Arlene Howlett Hall, Dorothy Howlett Sibley, and Joyce Howlett Clawson.

She is survived by her son, Robert J. (Bobby) Bunting; daughter-in-law, Nita Thurston Bunting; daughter-in-law, Vivian Bunting; 10 grandchildren, many great-grands, great-great-grands, nieces and nephews. 

She was a member of Petsworth Baptist Church. She spent 89 years of her life in Gloucester County dedicated to being the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend a person could possibly be. She was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all who were privileged to know her.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, from 4-5:30 p.m. Funeral services were held at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Petsworth Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
