A 64-year-old Deltaville woman died Monday following a single-vehicle accident on Twiggs Ferry Road in Middlesex.

State police spokesman Sgt. Michelle Anaya said Frances Delmer McLemore of Stiff Lane was driving a 2013 Ford Escape eastbound when she ran off the road east of Stampers Bay Road around 12:20 p.m. The SUV struck a tree and overturned several times.

Anaya said McLemore, the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital where she later died of her injuries. Anaya said McLemore was restrained at the time of the accident, which is still being investigated. ...
