Middlesex pedestrian dies in accident

A vehicle crash early Saturday evening involving a pedestrian in Middlesex County resulted in a fatality, according to Sgt. Michele Anaya of the Virginia State Police.

Leon Keyser, 42, of Regent Road in Topping was walking on Route 33 (General Puller Memorial Highway) near the intersection of Route 625 (Bob Hole Road) when he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Yaris.

Keyser was not impaired at the time of the crash, but was wearing dark clothing and walking in the roadway, the VSP reported. He died upon impact. The driver of the vehicle and her juvenile passenger were not injured in the crash. No charges will be placed at this time, Sgt. Anaya said.
