MICHAEL WAYNE WRIGHT

Michael Wayne Wright, age 54, of Gloucester, died May 10, 2013 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital following a heart attack.

Michael was born in Dumas, Ark., and spent his early years moving around the world with his parents who were in the military. After residing in Tennessee, Colorado, Texas, Arkansas and Hawaii, he graduated high school, Class of 1977 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following graduation he attended college for a short period of time; he then decided to travel the country and worked in a variety of interesting jobs and positions.

At the time of his death he was attending Tidewater Community College and was within one semester of receiving his Associate’s Degree of which he was very proud. Michael was a very active and respected member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was a tremendous support to those who needed him.

Survivors include parents, William and Dorothy Wright of Gloucester; sister, Lisa Gail Steele and husband Blair of Hampton; brother, John Eric Wright and wife Lisa Gail of Gloucester, their daughters and Michael’s nieces Kelsey and Amber.

A memorial service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family received friends from 1-1:45 prior to the service.
