Michael Stephen Sweeley Sr., 66, of Hayes, passed away July 6, 2015 at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Mike retired from Ball Metal Company in 2010 after 38 years of employment. He was hardworking and after his retirement he enjoyed fishing and he had a great love for dogs, especially Labs.          

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Stephen Sweeley Jr. and father, Robert C. Sweeley.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Michelle S. Gross and her husband Brian; grandson, Nathan Wayne Gross; granddaughter, Madison Nicole Gross; his mother, Mrs. Roberta Maxton Sweeley; sisters, Paula Sweeley and Louise Sweeley; brother, Lewis Sweeley (Patty); special cousins, Salli Ewing and Melinda Talbot (Lee); a niece and nephew, and his longtime friend and best buddy, Tim Leveille.

A graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 7-8 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
