MICHAEL ‘MIKE’ REILLEY

Michael “Mike” Reilley, 49, of Gloucester passed away suddenly on Thursday May 17, 2018, at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News, Virginia. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to JoAnn and Charles Reilley, and settled in Gloucester, Virginia, after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Reilley, and brothers, Sean, Patrick and Charles Jr. 

Michael was a loving, kind, and gentle man. He saw good in everyone and everything. He lived life with Christ at the center of it. He adored his family and loved others with true passion. He had a wonderful sense of humor and brought joy and laughter to those around him. 

Michael lived a wonderful life, and received many accomplishments when in the service such as the U.S. Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Transportation 911 ribbon, Letters of Commendation, and Good Conduct Awards. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration through Averett University in 2005 and his Master’s in Education through Strayer University 2010. After military retirement, he worked in Instructional Systems Design. He was also an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church teaching Christ and his love through RCIA program. He volunteered for his son Joshua’s school and enjoyed being a friend to others he worked with and served. 

Michael is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 30 years, Constance “Connie,” also of Youngstown; two sons, Dillon and Joshua; daughter, Ashley Young and her husband Brandon; his mother, JoAnn Reilley; sister, Cindy Dominic and her husband Nick; brothers, Tim and Jeff and his wife Lucy, as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his beloved pets.

Memorial services were held at Amory Funeral Home, 410 Grafton Drive, Yorktown, Va., on May 22 at 6 p.m. A Mass service was held the following day, May 23, at 5 p.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 315 Harris Grove Lane, Yorktown.
