Michael David Weatherington, 67, of New Point, died on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Brenda; two daughters, Angela Pearce and Jennifer Weatherington, and six grandchildren.

He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 20 years and had volunteered with the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad. He also helped to initiate the Mathews Volunteer Dive Rescue.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, assisted the family.
