Born in Lakewood, N.J., to Ellen Hemingway and Donald E. Hall, Mike spent his early years in Wellsboro, Pa., before moving to Virginia in the late ’80s. He enjoyed baseball, Boy Scouts and NJROTC. Graduating from Gloucester High in 1994, Mike joined the Navy where he served on both the USS Wasp (LHD-1) and the Kearsarge (LHD-3). Mike later worked in construction in Gloucester area for many years. He spent time traveling with friends before returning to Sayre, Pa., to be near his dad. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He loved to listen to music and sing Karaoke with his friends; his favorite place was Damon’s. He enjoyed playing video games and card games, and spending time with his dogs.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Hall; grandparents, Rosemary Sargent, Bill and Betty Hemingway, Frank and Anna Kendzierski. Mike is survived by his mother, Ellen Kendzierski, (Ray); stepmother, Debbie Mauldin Hall; sisters, Jennie Hawkins (Chris), Amanda Kendzierski; brother, Donnie Hall (Amanda); three nieces and four nephews. His family extended to be included and not forgotten: his Pennsylvania family, his Pinero family, his Irvington family and his Damon family.
Memorial services will be held at Apostles Lutheran Church, 7092 Main Street, Gloucester, Va., on Sunday, February 15 at 2 p.m., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, P.O. Box 684, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
A remembrance will be held at Colton Point Park in Pennsylvania later, in October 2026.
