The Mathews County School Board made a number of appointments of coaches and volunteer coaches for the upcoming 2024-2025 winter sports/activity season during its Oct. 15 meeting. Appointments included Robert J. Marrero Jr. (varsity girls’ basketball), John W. Ashberry Jr. (JV girls’ basketball), Clarene R. Caupain (JV boys’ basketball), Charles A. Forrest (indoor track), Joshua J. Schaible (wrestling), Stacey C. Griffith (strength and conditioning), Jennifer H. Doss (cheerleading for boys’ and girls’ basketball), John J. Corrigan (scholastic bowl), Heather L. McDevitt (forensics) and Mark G. Givens (marching band). Volunteer coaching appointments were made for Larry Wes Griffith (varsity girls’ basketball) and James R. Gray Jr., David P. Harris II and Michael E. Ray (wrestling). Additionally, Zackary S.
