The Mathews High School varsity volleyball team will hold tryouts starting Monday in the MHS gymnasium, according to varsity head coach Pat Moughon.

Tryouts for the varsity team will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. that day, with the junior varsity tryouts at 6-9 p.m. (Friday JV tryouts will be at 11 a.m.).

Athletes will need to have a completed VHSL physical in order to participate. The MHS volleyball team, 2017 Class 1A state champions, made it all the way back to the VHSL state semifinals last year before falling to Riverheads. ...
