The Mathews High School volleyball team traveled to Colonial Beach on Tuesday, and both the JV and varsity Lady Devils came away with wins, with the varsity girls winning in four sets and the JV girls winning, 2-1. Varsity Devils Mathews quickly showed Colonial Beach who they were up against, winning the first set, 25-17. The second set flew right by as Mathews won, 25-7. The Drifters were not letting another sweep happen and won the third set, 25-14. With Colonial Beach fighting to stay alive, Mathews stayed focused and determined to finish the match, and won the fourth and final set, 25-22. It was a long, active match but Mathews won, 3-1.
