MHS volleyball continues hot streak

The Mathews High School varsity volleyball team picked up three wins during the past week, starting with an away game at King William last Thursday night.

Mathews won that game in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 27-25. Hannah Rowe and Kai McCann led the team in kills with seven and six, respectively. Jacqueline Stewart and Brittany Mitchem each added three.

Rowe also led the team with 17 digs, closely followed by Anna Hudgins with fifteen. Hailey Abernathy and Whitney Eriksen each dug up six hits while Allison Foster had four. Hudgins aced three serves while Sophie Bandurco, Keely Crittenden and Foster each had two. Bandurco had 14 assists, followed by Crittenden with seven.
