MHS track competes at K&Q meet

The Mathews High School track and field team traveled to King and Queen High School on April 14 to compete against Rappahannock, Lancaster, Norfolk Christian and the host Tigers. Returning from spring break, the Devils came back strong, excited to get back on the track. The girls placed second in the meet and the boys placed fourth. For the MHS girls, Shalan Deese placed seventh in the 200-meter dash and first in the high jump. Kate Small (JV) placed third in the 400-meter dash, second in long jump, and second in triple jump. Elizabeth Moore placed first in the 800-meter dash and first in the 3,200-meter run. Jordan Sadeg placed first in the 100-meter hurdles, second in the 300-meter hurdles, third in long jump, and third in triple jump. Nora Suthard placed first in the 300-meter hurdles, first in long jump, and first in triple jump. For the boys, Trent Hudson placed ninth in the 200-meter dash.
