MHS track athletes compete at KW meet

The Mathews High School track and field team travelled to King William on Thursday, March 26, to compete against King William, Carver Academy, King & Queen, Chincoteague and Northampton. It was a good day for the Blue Devil athletes, with many players placing. For the boys, Trent Hudson placed 12th in the 200-meter dash and seventh in the long jump. Julian Wyatt (JV) placed 17th in the 200-meter dash. Justin Pressnell placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, fourth in the long jump, and second in the triple jump. Jacob Johson placed 11th in the 400-meter dash, third in the high jump, tenth in the long jump, fifth in the triple jump, and 10th in the discus. Samuel Miranda placed second in the 1600-meter run. Jon Jenkins placed first in the 3,200-meter run. Ivar Golden placed second in the 3,200-meter run.
