Mathews High School student Shay Conrow created the logo for this year’s Mathews Marathon, which is sponsored by the Mathews Outdoor Club.

This is the third year that an MHS student, under the direction of art teacher Rachel Morris, has contributed original artwork for the annual marathon, which also includes a half marathon, a marathon relay, and a virtual marathon. The logo will be used on the custom hooded sweatshirts and the finisher medals that participants will receive, said a press release.

Morris works with the Mathews Marathon race director to provide the opportunity for students to showcase their talents to local residents and visitors, said the release.

Other contributing artists were Saniya Smith and Ella Ward.

Registration is open now for the marathon, which is held in October. To register, visit mocva.net/marathon.
