MHS soccer teams post wins

As the Mathews High School soccer season comes to an end, the varsity girls, JV and varsity boys have all posted wins in recent action.
Starting off the win streak, the varsity girls shut out the Northumberland Indians last Wednesday, 8-0. Sophomore Lauren Johnson led the charge with four of the Lady Devils’ goals. Hailey Denkinger also proved to be a constant threat, netting a hat trick, while Katherine Murphy also added her name to the score sheet for the first time in her career, rounding out the dominant performance.
On Friday, the girls continued the win streak facing a tough challenge against Northampton, but ultimately prevailed with a hard-fought 2-1 victory, avenging a loss earlier this season. Johnson scored both goals for the Blue Devils, securing another crucial win for the team.
