The Mathews High School varsity soccer teams advance to their regional tournament with home games today, Thursday, May 28, on the Blue Devils’ home field. The #1 seed MHS girls received a bye in the first round of the Region 1-2A tournament. At 5:30 p.m., they will take on the Middlesex Chargers. On May 6, the Lady Devils defeated the visiting Chargers, 4-3, in a game that went into overtime. The Mathews boys are also the top-seed in their Class 1 Region A tournament bracket, facing the #8 seed King and Queen Tigers, beginning at 7....
