The Mathews High School Scholastic Bowl team is off to a great start, with a season opening win over Middlesex (320-105) and last Thursday’s home opener against the visiting King William Cavaliers (235-155). The team was scheduled to travel to King and Queen High School on Wednesday, with the next home contest a rematch with Middlesex on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Home matches are held in the MHS media center, beginning at 4 p.m. The team, coached by John Corrigan, includes, seated from left, Jameson Segalini, Toby Eskins, Felicity Hartlove, Keegan Walls; standing, Cate Christopher, Evelyn Welsh, Joseph Davis, Charlotte Bailey, Corey Zheng, Ray Hudgins, Isabella Hockenberry, Bethany Davis, Trey Abrams and Alex McDevitt.
