The Mathews High School cross country team traveled to Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville on Saturday to compete in the Milestat.com XC Invitational.
The Blue Devils entered the JV boys #2 race, the JV Girls #2 race, the Varsity C boys’ race, and the Varsity C girls’ race. 
Mathews entered three runners in the JV Girls’ race. Out of 188 runners, Abigail Hudgins (23:38) finished 31st. She was followed by Tiffany Condron (25:08) and Caroline Evans (27:36). The JV Girls did not place as a team because they had just three runners competing.
Next up were JV boys’, with six runners entered from Mathews. Out of the 298 runners in the race, Nasir Thomas (18:32) finished 13th. He was followed by Solomon Hess (19:51), Kris True (19:55), Josh Rosadino (20:21), Blake Atkins (20:23) and Presley Murphy (21:22). Out of 28 complete teams in the race, the JV boys finished 10th overall.
