The Mathews High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams defeated Lancas-ter last Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Lancaster course.

Seth James finished first overall with a time of 18:37, followed by Jaxon McDonald in third with a finishing time of 19:47 and Salvador Cardenas in fourth with a time of 19:48.

Andrew Greve finished next for Mathews with a time of 20:11, followed by Jon Jenkins (20:28), Blake Hunley (20:36), Samuel Miranda (JV) (21:04), Gavin Dustin (21:41), Carlos Clayborn (JV) (21:49), Franklin Cardenas (JV) (22:02), Zachary Salvadori (JV) (22:08), Cristian Miranda (JV) (22:08), Noah Hurst (22:20), Ian Schaible (22:42), Elias Hidalgo (23:47), Adam Greve (JV) (26:30) and James Morgan (JV) (29:57).

The MHS boys finished the meet with a team score of 21.
