MHS homecoming court

Mathews High School does not have a football team this year, but that didn’t stop the school from planning its homecoming celebration for Friday, Oct. 14. The activities will begin with a pep rally at the school at 2:15 p.m., followed by a parade at 4, culminating in a ceremony at 6:30 on the football field, involving the MHS marching band and cheerleaders and the crowning of the homecoming king and queen. The members of the homecoming court were voted on last week by the student body. They include, front row from left, seniors Will Jackson, Sarah Ashbaugh, Chelsea Lowe, Caleb Burford and Massimo Mastormano (inset left) and Faith Lewis (inset right); second row, juniors Fabian Cardenas Flores, Lannah Callis, Laura Rowe and Logan Kostyal; third row, sophomores Jerell Johnson, Scarlet Johnson, Liberti Carter and Jordyn Cosby; back row, freshmen Thomas Lester, Addison Lowe, Jayda Thomas and Darnell Young.
