Mathews High School senior Melody Smith sure looks full of spirit as she takes part in Friday afternoon’s MHS homecoming parade. In one hand, she holds the school’s Spirit Stick aloft, while, in her other hand, holds a sign proclaiming “Fridays are for the Seniors!” Shouting to the crowd, to her left wearing a cowboy hat, is Macy Johnson. The highlight of the day was the crowning of MHS Homecoming King Will Jackson and Queen Sarah Ashbaugh (photo below). The homecoming celebration also included performances from the MHS marching band and cheerleaders, recognition of the school’s senior golf team members and ended with a homecoming dance.
