MHS Hall of Fame program Friday

Mathews High School will induct the first class of its newly created Hall of Fame during a program Friday evening in the school’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with the program starting at 6. A photo presentation starts at 5:10. The evening will be a display board of articles and pictures about all 33 inductees, as well as the Hall of Fame plaques for the public to view.

A program with a bio of each inductee will be available, along with nomination forms for. 

Each honored person will receive an individual plaque and have his or her names engraved on plaques to be located in the gym trophy case area. A large plaque will be placed for each of the Hall of Fame categories: Coaches, Athletes and Contributors.

Also planned are three picture plaques of HOF inductees who have had a major impact on athletes at Mathews High School: H. Kenneth Brown Sr., Steve Lewis and Harry M. Ward.
