Mathews High School golfers posted a team score of 200 in a contest against Rappahannock and Lancaster on Tuesday at the Quinton Oaks Golf Course in Callao. The two Northern Neck teams tied at 178 and went on to play a tie breaker.

“They did well. It was a bit of an off-day, but I am still confident everyone will be in the 40s by the end of the season,” MHS coach Brook Aldridge said of her players. 

Seniors Matt Jenkins and Cole Huff led Mathews in scoring with a 43 and 45, respectively. On Tuesday, Mathews will face King William in a match at the Piankatank River Golf Club in Hartfield. ...
