The Mathews High School varsity softball team returned from spring break on Tuesday to face King William on the road. The Lady Cavs dominated the game, shutting out the Devils, 17-0. Christiana Wood hit a double and Addison Griffith also had a hit, but other than that, the Lady Devils were stymied at the plate.

Mathews looks to get in the win column on Friday, when the Lady Devils host Essex, beginning at 5 p.m.
