The Mathews High School varsity softball team dropped a pair of away games to Northern Neck foes in recent action.On Friday, the Lady Devils traveled to Warsaw, falling to the Rappahannock Raiders, 22-1. Laura Rowe had the only RBI for MHS, with the first baseman going 1-for-2 at the plate. Emily Coons and Addy Rowe also had hits in the loss.

On Tuesday, the MHS girls fell to Northumberland, 11-1. Christiana Wood, Rowe, Addison Griffith, Alivia Garrett and Hannah Davis each collected one hit, with Griffith, the team’s catcher, picking up the RBI.

The MHS softball team hits the road on Friday to take on Westmoreland, in the final game before spring break.
