Mathews High School is gearing up for its winter sports season, with a Zoom preseason player/parent meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2, for boys’ and girls’ basketball and cheerleading. Tryouts begin this Monday.

Wrestling and indoor track will hold their Zoom meeting next Wednesday, Dec. 9, with practices in those sports starting on Monday, Dec. 14.

All participants must have a completed 2020-21 VHSL physical before trying out for any activity. Physicals and athletic forms are available in the high school main office, AD office and Thomas Hunter main office.

There is also a $40 pay-to-play fee required. No one can try out without a physical.
