MHS cross country win streak continues

Last week, the Mathews High School cross country teams traveled to the West Point course, hosted by the West Point Country Club. They competed against teams from Rappahannock, King and Queen, and West Point. It was a great day for a race at 73 degrees and partly cloudy skies.

The girls’ team dominated the competition by placing Blue Devil runners in each of the top five positions. Although they would have won automatically by forfeit, the girls didn’t let up during the race, with many runners racing to their fastest times of the season. bert (23:15), jayvee runner Megan Johnson (23:31) and Alyssa Curko (24:02).
